Dane
Hello! This is Dane. I have Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I was diagnosed almost 5 years ago. It has been a long and rough road for me and for all of us, my parents and my 3 older brothers. I am is still in treatment, taking various daily oral chemotherapies, once a month steroids, infusions and hospital visits. Through it all I have been brave and strong. Throughout this time, CHLA has been my home away from home. From the parking attendants to the nurses to the surgeons they have all taken care of me. They are making me well! Without them, I would not be here. We are forever grateful to CHLA for all that they do for not just for me, but for every child that they treat. We know that we cannot cure cancer but we can make a difference. Every penny makes a difference. That is why we, along with 2 other CHLA families, have started Change 4 Children’s. To help, please kindly fill this jar with change and then email us. We will pick it up and would love to give you another jar! Tell your friends, your family, tell everyone. We will give them jars too!!! Thank you so very much!

Like so many other kids, Children’s Hospital has helped change my life. After going a year with excruciating back pain, the wonderful doctors and nurses helped fix what was wrong and help me go back to doing what I love. The confidence that the doctors and nurses instilled in me was tremendous throughout the entire process of my surgery and recovery. With the help of our parents, I along with several other kids who have been positively affected by Children’s Hospital are figuring out ways to give back to such an important and special place. After experiencing and seeing the miracles that these doctors and nurses perform as well as all of the hard work they put in, I feel as though I can say thank you for what they have done for me and all of the people that have been there before and since.
Jake
He is 16 and recently finished the chemotherapy portion of his treatment after being diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. In addition to 17 rounds of chemo, Jake endured a surgery and 30 rounds of radiation. He will continue his treatment and recovery under the wonderful care of the doctors and nurses at CHLA. After spending countless nights in the hospital during his treatment, Jake can appreciate the work that Change4Children’s does in an effort to help better the patient and family experience For those in the hospital. We ask that you continue to support him and the mission of Change4Children’s
Theo A. and Marley A.
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has saved our family many times. Dr. Borchert helped Marley when she had strabismus (her eyes crossed). He was the only one who was convinced he was able to correct her issue without surgery. He was right! Dr. Keens also figured out why Theo couldn’t breathe as a baby. He saved his life! He had reflux and asthma but with the right medicine and time, Theo is a perfectly healthy kid. Dr. Geffner has helped us to make sure that our growth is on track. Our family helped start The Change 4 Children’s Foundation as a way to say “thank you” to the hospital. We hand out jars to people and ask them to fill them up with change and dollars. We then use the money to donate things for the patients to make their experience easier and more pleasant. Our goal is to see more smiles in the hospital setting. It would mean a lot to us if you and your family would fill up a jar with whatever you can. You don’t have to fill it. Every coin and dollar make a huge difference. We really appreciate your helping our cause. Together, we can save lives, one jar at a time.
