Christine is a Certified Child Life Specialist at a major children’s hospital in Los Angeles. Christine has a Masters of Arts degree in Child Development and over 15 years of experience working with children and families. As a Certified Child Life Specialist for over 10 years, Christine has held positions in the OR, ED, and inpatient settings. As a Child Life Specialist, Christine focuses on providing developmentally appropriate play and education to promote effective coping in the hospital setting. Through play, patients are able to identify and explore emotions related to chronic illnesses, acute injuries, and ongoing hospitalization. Additionally Christine uses play and hands-on education to prepare to children of all ages for upcoming procedures and surgeries. Christine also has a passion for promoting positive developmental trajectories and championing developmentally appropriate practices in the hospital setting. Christine enjoys collaborating with many community groups to enhance the experience of pediatric patients in the hospital as well as build awareness for the Child Life profession.
